Chapter 1 -- CITY BOUNDARY MAP

Section 2-1-1. Existing Boundary Section 2-1-2. Boundary Map to be Compiled and Maintained Section 2-1-3. Contents of Map Section 2-1-4. Not Necessary to Amend Code to Change Boundary

2-1-1. Existing Boundary. The boundary or City limit of Parowan City shall be as existing on the effective date of this Section as the same may be changed from time to time by appropriate annexation Ordinances or de-annexation proceedings.

2-1-2. Boundary Map to be Compiled and Maintained. The City Recorder shall, as soon as is practicable after the effective date of this Section, compile an official boundary map showing the now existing boundary or limit of the City. Said map shall be submitted to the City Council and upon adoption by the City Council shall constitute a part of this Section as though fully set forth herein and shall be determinative of the boundary of the City. Said map shall be changed from time to time as the boundary of the City changes. The official boundary map shall be maintained in the office of the City Recorder and shall be open to public inspection.

2-1-3. Contents of Map. The boundary map shall be in such form as the City Recorder shall determine but shall contain sufficient detail to show the exact boundary of the City. The map shall also, among other things, show all annexation, de-annexation, and the respective dates thereof. Said map may, should the City Recorder so determine, consist of an aerial photograph or photographs with appropriate markings.

2-1-4. Not Necessary to Amend this Code to Change Boundary. It shall not be necessary to amend any provision of this Chapter to change the boundary or limit of the City. The City Council shall adopt an appropriate Ordinance changing the boundary and such change shall be indicated on the official boundary map.

Chapter 2 -- ANNEXATIONS

Section 2-2-1. Adoption of State Law Section 2-2-2. Adoption of Amendment

2-2-1. Adoption of State Law. The law of the State of Utah as set forth in Chapter 2, Title 10 of the Utah Code Annotated, 1953, and amendments thereto is hereby approved and adopted as the annexation and changes of boundaries Ordinance for Parowan, Utah and by this reference is made part of this Ordinance as though set forth verbatim herein.

2-2-2. Adoption of Amendment. Whenever any amendment revision, or supplement is made to the Utah law referred to in paragraph 2-2-1 above, the same shall become a revision, amendment or supplement to this ordinance as though enacted by the Parowan City Council and posted and recorded by the Parowan City Recorder.

Chapter 3 -- SEVERABILITY

3-1. Severability. Each provision of this Title is severable, and if any provision shall be declared invalid, the remaining provisions shall not be affected but shall remain in full force and effect.

 

This entire Title 2 - Boundaries, was adopted by the City Council on November 5, 1979. (Refer to Ordinance No. 79-3)
