NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING #2 - 2-19-2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Parowan City Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Council Chambers, Parowan City Hall, 35 East 100 North. The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment regarding proposed amendments to the Parowan City Municipal Code (PCMC) Title 15 Section 14.  Changes include:

1. The name change from "Board of Adjustment" to "Appeal Authority" throughout the document.
2. The composition change from five members to one member, appointed by the mayor with city council advice and consent.
3. The removal of term limits and the ability to remove the Appeal Authority member without cause.
4. The elimination of sections on officers, quorum, and voting procedures.
5. Changes to the meeting procedures.

The public is invited to attend this hearing and offer comments to the City Council regarding the proposed amendments.  Written comments may also be submitted to Callie Bassett, Parowan City Recorder, at the address listed above, or e-mailed to callie@parowan.gov.
