Fishing

Streams, lakes and reservoirs are waiting for casual and serious fishers. Southern Utah has a wide array of fish. Click on the link Utah Division of Natural Resources for detailed information.

Note: fishing licenses can be purchased online or at most sporting goods stores.  

The Yankee Meadow Reservoir is located 10 miles southeast of Parowan, SR-143, left at the five-mile marker. Accessible summer through fall, a family get-away spot to enjoy fishing, paddle boarding and picnics. Driving to the reservoir offers spectacular views of the Vermillion Castle and red cliffs. An alternate route to the Yankee is Second-Left Hand Canyon (approximately 1/4 mile SE of First Left Hand on SR-143. This dirt-road route is equally stunning with red sandstone spires and conglomerate rock formations.
