SEASONAL SWIMMING POOL MANAGER

Parowan City is hiring a Seasonal Swimming Pool Manager.

This position performs supervisory duties in insuring proper operation of the Parowan City Swimming Pool.

Works under the general guidance and direction from the City Manager.  

Main duties include:

• Supervising swimming pool personnel.
• Participating in recruitment, selection, and training of employees.
• Preparing work schedules.
• Insuring that all pool equipment is functioning properly and is in good working condition.
• Scheduling pool programs such as swimming lessons, lap swimming and aerobics, and open swim.
• Balancing daily money received and assisting in budget preparations.
• Life guarding as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Education and Experience:

A. Graduation from High School, AND

B.  One (1) year of experience as a lifeguard, OR

C.  One (1) year of management and supervisory training, OR

D.  Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

2.  Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

A. Working knowledge of swimming safety measures; working knowledge of pool mechanical operations.

B. Ability to coordinate and direct the work of others; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Special Requirements:

Must be Lifeguard Certified and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certified.  Must have or must be able to complete and pass the Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.

Special Guidelines:

Formal application; rating of experience; reference check; oral interview.

Wage: $15.00 - $20.00/hr., depending on experience.
