How Do I Get A Business License?

Follow These Easy Steps:

1. Register with the State of Utah at the OneStop Online Business Registration.

• Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code: Please visit corporations.utah.gov to register or renew a business entity or DBA. 
• Utah State Tax Commission: Please visit tap.tax.utah.gov/TaxExpress/_/?Link=TapBr to register a taxpayer account through the Taxpayer Access Point business registration portal.
• Utah Department of Workforce Services: Please visit jobs.utah.gov/ui/Employer/EmployerRegistration/Intro.aspx?homepage=1 for employers to register with DWS.

2. Download a copy of the City's Business License Form (below). Complete this form and return it to the Parowan Office, 35 East 100 North, during regular business hours (9am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday, and 9am to 12pm Friday).

3. If you are operating a business out of your home, download a copy of the City's Home Occupation Permit Application (below) and follow the instructions on the application.

Beginning April 1, 2023 Short-Term Rentals, including Airbnb's and Vrbo's, are required to have a business license and will need to apply for the Home Occupation Permit.

The Business License fee is $50/year.  This fee is not prorated for new businesses starting up during the year.

Business Licenses are valid from March 1st through February 28th and renew each year beginning in January.
